Fanciful

Oh hai

Last week I developed a bit of a cold and, despite wanting to play music and circus and all other levels of party…my body was kind of like: eh…or you could lay in your bed forever and ever and think about all the things you want to do but have zero energy to do them.

Today, even though my voice is shot, I feel like I’m just starting to emerge from the, “Well, the theme of today’s day will be ‘death'” phase of the autumn cold.

Hey, guys, it’s good to be back.

Is it OK if I tread slowly for today? I’m a little under the weather, still. šŸ™‚

This weekend I flew out to Atlanta and made a pre-Thanksgiving “Friendsgiving” dinner of sorts with boyfrand and his friends & fam. Oh, and his dog. You can see me holding his dog in the picture, above. We’re kind of like best friends, I think, the dog and I. Everyone else seems kind, but the South still has an air of mystery to me. “Are you being kind to me right now, or just polite?” = how I feel most of the time. Truly.

But, I’m home now. The flight pattern flew me over great expanses of water and I thought to myself, “Are these my lakes? My Great Lakes?” and I tried to sear the image of the land patterns into my mind, so I could find them later.

And, I think that I did. I think this was us.

The red arrow shows the direction the plane flew, the hearts show the islands I looked at and thought, "I must remember these and find them on a map, later."

I flew into my beautiful land, the leaves all changing colors against an expansive blue wash of water. It was truly beautiful and wonder-filled. What a gift. What a luxury.

That being said, I’ll give you a quick run down of my life.

I read this blog post today and, for the love of all that is good and holy and speaks beauty and truth to the heart, please, give it a read. It talks about Mary and friendship and love and hope. Probably you won’t regret clicking.

I made this recipe tonight, but added sweet potatoes and kale, per the encouragement of a one Juli-YEAH.

Do you want to know things that I want to do, but can’t figure out how to fit into my life? I will tell you. Please, tell me which ones I cannot live without, because the temptation to do them all is so strong, and I can’t do them all.

  • Mandolin, mandolin, mandolin. More music in my life, please.
  • Discussion groups about beautiful things for this purpose: community, education, upward, upward growth. Forever upward.
  • MORE CIRCUS, SO HELP ME, this is my love.
  • Argentinian Tango, for stretching and more, more beauty
  • Podcast with some darling, wonderful friends
  • Skillshare Saturdays where my people teach and learn new things

*pant pant pant*

Oh, how dearly I want to do them all.

Oh, how dearly I want to go to bed right now.

But, also, right now I want to take a walk. I also want to visit museums and zoos and dance halls and the places of more, more, more life. Forever.

Goose night! šŸ™‚

  1. Oh, I adored doing Argentine Tango. It’s so lovely. It’s one of those things you can do your whole life (at least I hope so fit when I get back to it)!
